Bicycles may be hired in Torre Del Mar. At Almayate, a little further west on the coast road one can find a Go-Karting circuit. Slightly to the east of Torre del Mar there is also the charming fishing harbour & Marina of Caleta de Velez. Coast road N340.
In Velez Malaga itself there is the Aerodrome de Axarquia where you can take a scenic flight to view the magnificent landscape above your holiday house. Advance booking required. Ask for further information or see their Website.
Only 4 km apart, there are various attractions in these two towns. Between the two lies Centro El Ingenio, better known as Eroski Center. Apart from the enormous supermarket there are all kinds of shops plus bars and a cinema complex. Both towns boast pubs and discos plus many restaurants. For kids especially there is the Aqua Velez waterworld complex..
In Torre del Mar bicycles may be hired by the hour. Both towns have street markets every Thursday. In the middle of July through to the end of August Torre has an evening crafts market where numerous bargains can be found. From all our houses Velez & Torre can be reached in less then 45 minutes.
Take the Autovia A7 from Velez or continue down to Torre and have a leisurely drive along the coast on the N340. There are numerous beaches and plenty of nightlife as well as the famous ‘Cuevas de Nerja’ in this popular holiday town. The caves were only discovered in the late 1970’s. Guided tours are provided for these phenomena of Nature. Highly recommended. Also plenty of opportunities for horse riding, boating trips for both fishing and pleasure.
In Malaga one can find many cultural attractions, open-air markets, parks and Botanical Gardens. Visit the impressive Cathedral and of course the Alcazaba. Why not take a trip around the city in a horse drawn carriage. In this way you can see a lot more than you would spending the same time on foot. Malaga is the sixth largest city in Spain.
From Comares or Colmenar one may swiftly arrive at the coast or, in a couple of hours on the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada. The Alhambra Palace and the cities of Cordoba and Sevilla are also within easy reach by car.
Benalmadena has plenty of entertainment to offer to both adults & children alike. Tivoli World in Arroyo de la Miel has Wild West and Flamenco shows as well as a cable-car ride. Also you could pay a visit to Selwo Marina Dolphinarium and the Sealife Centre, which boasts the biggest shark collection in Europe. Why not take a stroll around the Marina while you’re there?
